More than half a century has passed since Frank Robino built his first home in the Wilmington area after returning home from serving the U.S. Navy in World War II. During that time, many soldiers were returning home to anxious spouses, wanting to begin anew and start families. Recognizing that homes would be in great demand, Robino started building.

55 years

The Oakmont floorplan is offered at The Villages at Millwood in Millsboro.

The momentum that would make him one of Delaware’s leading homebuilders began in northern Delaware. In 1955, he built his first planned community of 200 homes. Soon after, his communities began to spread rapidly. Before the 1970s came to a close, he became known as the “man who built Dover.”

In the 1990s, he expanded yet again, to Sussex County, after recognizing the growing market for second-home buyers and retirees in the Rehoboth Beach area.

Robino strove to keep his work ethic consistent throughout all his years of business. As it was then, and is still practiced today by Frank Robino Companies, LLC — a company that has constructed over 100 communities and more than 22,000 homes — all homebuyers are treated with the utmost courtesy and are ensured that their future home will be built with quality, care and precision.

Frank Robino Companies is now managed by Robino’s sons, Paul and Mark. Paul Robino, who is president and CEO, has been a part of the company for more than three decades. He earned degrees in construction management and architecture from Syracuse University and applies those skills to Frank Robino Companies in product development. Mark Robino is responsible for construction administration in all aspects of the firm, working diligently to ensure that his father’s values and traditions are carried out in each home built with the Robino name. Chief investment officer duties fall to Michael Stortini, who provides the overall operational and technical leadership. Jack Corrozi, who first got into building in 1973 under the tutelage of Frank Robino, focuses on the design and construction of 55+ age-restricted communities. Philip Robino has also joined the company, as marketing manager, representing the family’s fourth generation of builders.

Together, the team at Frank Robino Companies is creating communities in all three Delaware counties, as well as select locations outside of Delaware.

In Northern Delaware, the community is building Avonbridge, a golf community of carriage twin homes surrounded by the Odessa National Golf Club. Luxurious two- and three-bedroom homes start in the mid-$200s. And not far, in Bear, the Frank Robino Companies is now marketing Steeple Glenn, its first 55-plus age-restricted community of spacious townhomes starting in the low $300s, and condominiums from the low $200s.

In Seaford, a small city in western Sussex County, the company is building Belle Ayre, comprised of 115 three-level townhomes. Seaford offers a quaint historic district and beautiful parks, and is an easy drive from the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Also near the shore is Concord Point Village, Phase II of the builder’s popular Villages at Millwood, in Millsboro. The community will feature 392 homes, including single-family homes, condominiums and townhomes.

Next to the Sussex Pines Country Club, Frank Robino Companies’ The Woods at Walls Creek is a community of single-family homes in two-story and ranch designs, set less than 10 minutes from the village of Georgetown.

Across the border, in Salisbury, MD, is active adult community Grande Point, named for its prime location near the intersection of Route 50 and East Main Street. Grande Point will offer 108 condominium homes divided among six buildings.
